How to Challenge JEE Main Provisional Answer Key 2025 – Session 2 Registration Begins

NTA has released the official Provisional Answer Key for the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 (January Exam). This is a crucial step in the process of conducting the examination, and with this, candidates will be able to verify their answers and make an estimation of their scores. The answer key was available on February 4, 2025, and students who have noticed errors can challenge it until February 6, 2025.

Now the response sheets of candidates who appeared in the test taken between January 22 to 30, 2025 at different shifts, are accessible on the official website of NTA JEE, and those students can submit objections for all those answers with the help of which they believe might be incorrect by following the process. 

After scrutiny of objections raised by the applicants, NTA will publish the Answer Key on the 8th of February, 2025 which shall be referred to by the authority declaring results.

  • First, use your browser to go to jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Find the link for “JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Answer Key Challenge” and click on it. 
  • Then, enter the Application Number along with either Password or Date of Birth as needed. 
  • Once logged in, find and click on the Answer Key Download option. 
  • The file will open in PDF format, and students can save or print the answer key for future reference.

How to Challenge the JEE Main 2025 Answer Key?

Students can challenge the answer if it is incorrect in the provisional key. Here, they would need to pay ₹200 per question as a non-refundable charge. Challenges are purely online, and challenges should reach NTA by 11:50 PM on February 6, 2025.

How to contest answers on jeemain.nta.nic.in.?

  • Go to the “Challenge Answer Key” option and select it. 
  • Inside, you’ll be able to choose which questions you do not agree with by checking the appropriate boxes. 
  • Then, upload documents to back your claim by submitting an attachment as a single PDF file. 
  • Now, submit your challenge with selections. 
  • Pay the charge of ₹200 per question through a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking after which one should ensure that all selections are finalized, as no further modifications would be allowed.

Registration for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Exam Centres

In the meantime when students will get time to go through their session 1 performances, NTA has also thrown open registrations for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 to be conducted in April 2025. Candidates who are interested to take the Session 2, whether fresh or rectify their marks, must apply by February 25, 2025.

NTA has released the list of cities in which the Session 2 examinations would be held. It will take place across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Delhi (NCT). The prominent cities include New Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Agra, Varanasi, Meerut, Dehradun, Haldwani, and Roorkee. Students have to verify the list of accessible centers and prefer accordingly at the time of filling up the form.

Required Documents for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Registration

Candidates applying for Session 2 are required to upload some documents at the time of registration. These include a passport-sized photograph, signature, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, and ID proof such as an Aadhar card, passport, or voter ID. In addition, students from reserved categories are required to submit a valid category certificate, while PwD candidates are required to submit their disability certificate. Debit/credit card or net banking information is also required for an application fee along with other payment details.

Important Dates for JEE Main 2025

The provisional answer key for Session 1 was released on February 4, 2025. The students have the time up to February 6, 2025, to raise objections against any discrepancies. The final answer key will be released on or before February 8, 2025, and on the same date, the result of JEE Main will be declared. As of now, the registration of JEE Main 2025 Session 2 is open, and the closing date is on February 25, 2025.
